Build with Unreal Engine
Package with the matching engine, AutomationTool and native compiler.
Unreal Engine requirements
Native Windows or Linux Development and Shipping packaging runs through Unreal Automation Tool. Windows uses RunUAT.bat, the engine-compatible Visual Studio toolchain and Windows SDK. Linux uses RunUAT.sh and the engine-compatible Linux compiler/SDK. Linux launcher validation currently supports Unreal 5.7 and 5.8 bootstrap formats; other or custom formats fail preflight. Unreal cross-compilation is unavailable.
Before you begin
- The project’s matching Unreal installation and AutomationTool.
- The engine-compatible C++ compiler and SDK for your native target.
Run a Unreal Engine build
Build from the detected project without changing its source to fit an unrelated installed editor.
- Open your project, then Setup → Environment.
- Select the matching editor and resolve each required target check.
- Open Readiness and recheck the selected target.
- Choose New build from the overview, review the target and configuration, and start.
Expected result: The run completes with an archive, manifest and retained raw log.
Check the result
Extract the artifact, compare its files with the manifest, and launch the game on the matching platform. Investigate the first actionable engine error if the run fails.
Expected result: You have checked your game’s files and main interaction.
