Install and update frameDock

Choose the right package, check its checksum, and keep your workspace when updating.

Choose a package for your computer

Use the public download catalog for Windows and Linux. Each package lists its version, platform and checksum.

Before you begin

  • Windows 11 x64 or a supported Linux x64 desktop.
  • A backup of your game source and space for an isolated build workspace.
  1. Open Downloads and choose the package for your operating system.
  2. Verify its SHA-256 checksum. On Windows, check the publisher signature.
  3. Keep your previous package for rollback.

Expected result: You have a package that matches your computer.

Install on Windows

The per-user setup registers frameDock in the Start menu and installs Microsoft WebView2 when it is missing.

  1. Run the Windows setup and review its publisher information.
  2. Complete setup, then open frameDock from the Start menu.
  3. Sign in using your email link and the matching application code.

Expected result: The local workspace opens after the account request is approved.

Install on Linux

The Debian package registers an application launcher and installs its GTK, WebKitGTK and Secret Service dependencies. Use the exact package filename from the download catalog.

  1. Install the downloaded Debian package with your package manager.
  2. Open frameDock from the application launcher.
  3. Check that the desktop secret store is available before connecting accounts.

Update or uninstall

Updating preserves workspace data. Uninstalling preserves projects and user data by default; it does not remove external game folders or shared engine installations.

  1. Keep a backup and the previous installer before updating.
  2. Install the newer package, then check your existing project and artifacts.
  3. To uninstall, use Windows Installed apps or your Linux package manager.

Expected result: Your application version changes without deliberately deleting game source or shared tools.
